Town's Male Voice Choir heads charity fundraiser
The Mendip Branch of Parkinson's UK is hopped to hit the right note by presenting an evening of fine choral music in support of the charity.
Performing at the event were the Glastonbury Male Voice Choir, with support from father and daughter, Peter and Laura Taylor, who will sang solos as part of the entertainment.
The concert took place in Glastonbury Methodist Church, Lambrook Street, Glastonbury, on Saturday, July 14, at 7.30pm.
Doreen Wells, founder of the Parkinson's UK Mendip Branch and its social secretary, said: "We were delighted to welcome the Glastonbury Male Voice Choir for an evening of quality musical entertainment. It was great to see everyone come along to listen to their wonderful music and vocals, and help us raise awareness and vital funds for the charity at the same time."
The choir performed classics like Climb Every Mountain, Hippopotamus Song, Gilbert & Sullivan's With Cat Like Tread and Barry Manilow's One Voice.
All funds raised on the night will go towards research into finding a cure for Parkinson's.
Parkinson's UK – the support and research charity – says it is passionate about finding a cure and improving life for everyone affected by Parkinson's.
The Mendip Branch offers information, friendship and support to local people with Parkinson's, their families and carers to make sure that no one has to face Parkinson's alone.
