A tribute to Mervyn Salmon
We are sad to report that Mervyn Salmon, one of our longest serving members, has passed away peacefully on 29 October 2014.
Mervyn was a keen chorister all his life; he sang with Glastonbury Male Voice Choir for over 50 years and incredibly he sang with the church choir in St Cuthberts in Wells for over 70 years. He also sang with a small group called the Non Such Singers for many years. Mervyn was a member of the Wells Cathedral Oratorio for many years until ill health forced him to retire.
Mervyn was a lovely, cheerful and very gentle man who took great pleasure from his singing. He will be greatly missed from the Choir as a whole and the second Tenors will miss him as a stalwart of the section.
