A Christmas message from our Chairman David Taylor

Christmas 2012 sees the Glastonbury Male Voice Choir return to St John's, which is the perfect venue for carols, and in the home town of the choir.

We are thrilled to have a local soloist from Shapwick join us for the event; the talented soprano, Hilary Glenny.

This year the choir recruited Christine Robertson as our accompanist. Christine lives just up the road and is already a firm favourite with the choir.

During the year the choir has increased its membership again and we can now muster forty singers. We still wish to expand and extend an invitation to join us for rehearsals at the Town Hall on Tuesday evenings for singing and camaraderie. We reconvene after our Christmas break on 8th January, so, please, gentlemen, come along.

The choir has had a full programme again this year and our musical director, Tracey Hansford, continues to inspire us with her skill and enthusiasm. Our programme for 2013, when we celebrate our 90th year as a choir, is already full. Please continue your support.

Finally, the choir wish to thank everyone at St John's church and wish you all a happy and holy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

David Taylor
